永别了，Windows Media Center

自 2009 年，微软就终止了对 Windows Media Center 的更新，但依旧有它的粉丝希望这项功能可以在 Windows 10 中重获新生，但很可惜的是，这次我们等来的是跟 Windows Media Center 永别的消息。

上周在旧金山举行的微软 Build 大会上，微软公司高层向 ZDNet 确认，Windows 10 将不再兼容 Windows Media Center。任何电脑从 Windows 7 或 Windows 8.1 升级到 Windows 10，都会丧失 Windows Media Center 功能，且无法返回。

如果你是 Windows Media Center 的真爱粉，那么可以选择一直使用 Windows 7 或带有 Windows Media Pack 的 Windows 8.1 系统，直到 2020 年和 2023 年支持时效过期。

Windows Media Center 死亡也是意料之中的事。2009 年，Windows Media Center 开发小组，就为 Windows 7 推送完最后代码的不久后解散。接下来微软虽然勉强得为 Windows 8 提供了 Windows Media Center Pack，但它只是拥有所需的解码器和 Media Center，没有增加新功能。微软甚至宣布 Windows Media Center 不是 “娱乐未来” 的一部分。

在 Windows 8 面世的前一年，微软 Windows 事业部主管 Steven Sinofsky 就曾表示，从经济和使用率数据方面考虑，将放弃 Windows Media Center。从数据看来，Windows Media Center 打开率极低，其中大部分都是用来播放 DVD，但现在 DVD 解决方案已有很多。

Windows Media Center 作为 Windows XP Special 版本功能在 2002 年正式推出。它提供了基于 PC 的 TV 调谐器和 “10-foot interface” 来控制包括 DVD，音乐等媒体播放。Windows Media Center 后续增加了对高清晰度电视、基于 CableCard 调谐器，第三方资源（如 Netflix）能运行的 SDK，和支持蓝光。
